Jet Squelcher sets: Ranked Mode

Splat Zones: Vanilla set

The Jet Squelcher is great at turfing a wide area from a distance, but avoid being passive and letting the enemy fighters have their way with you. Use Angle Shooter proactively and help your teammates focus fire on the more aggressive foes.

If nothing else, Angle Shooter allows you to know exactly where the enemy is respective to your position and helps relocate to a better vantage point. Against opposing Chargers and other backline, hit once with Angle Shooter and escape. Jet Squelcher lacks power to match returning fire from Chargers.

If you play Jet more aggressively, you'll quickly learn to appreciate Ink Vac. A relevant special to Splat Zones, activate it at midrange to counter all sorts of pushes. After cleaning up at short range, the large long range explosion helps initiate a push into enemy territory.

Tower Control: Vanilla set

If you can tag someone with an Angle Shooter, do so. Getting a splat in Tower Control is quite difficult between your weapon's lack of power and the amount of obstacles present, so the identification of threat is the better outcome. Getting the first hit with the Angle Shooter beats getting the first hit with the Jet.

You defend the tower by aggressively marking potential dangers, then denying them entry. Once the enemy realizes that you're the anchor organizing the team's defense, they'll go after you, making it easier for you to return to your defensive position and maintain defense.

Ink Vac supplements defense when the enemy comes at you with their specials. It allows you to move forward and deny incoming fire for a length of time, ensuring the Tower continues forward. Or you can activate on the tower itself to guarantee its movement.

Rainmaker: Custom set

With terrible Barrier DPS, your purpose is to ensure no one on your team gets hurt while looking for opportunities to bypass the barrier and attack enemies from the other side. You're closer to a Splattershot Pro than an anchor in this mode; although less reliant on splats and more on the threat of range.

Constantly shifting between defense and offense, Toxic Mist is there to protect you in case you overextend. Toxic Mist also offers an area of effect debuff at range, something appreciated when charging a foe that has already taken cover.

Area of effects follows in your chosen special: Ink Storm. To compensate for the Jet's low damage and linear fire, you bring a kit designed to combat entrenched enemies. Force your opponents out of cover, and decide the correct course of action from there.

Clam Blitz: Custom set

As the Jet Squelcher lacks splatting power, it is dependent on Toxic Mist to slow foes down. The Jet looks over the team's clam collectors while controlling enemy movement. It acts as a backline unit that paints the field as much as it engages opponents in battle. Toxic Mist also hampers enemy anchors within range.

Paint wide and toss Toxic Mist against those trying to close in before finishing them off with the Jet. In the context of a push, Toxic Mist serves as a first strike before you set up to offer covering fire. If you didn't need the Mist, then a flanking unit was probably on the prowl. Save ink to counterattack with the subweapon first.

Ink Storm follows the theme of controlling enemy movement with little personal involvement. Launched at the enemy basket line, it stalls over the field and prevents meaningful defense. Combine with the long range fire of Jet and you can pick off individual targets better than you would with an Ink Vac.
