Sploosh-o-matic sets: Ranked Mode

Splat Zones: Vanilla set

The Sploosh lives on forward pressure against enemy lines and uses Curling Bombs to keep the pressure going. The choice of set is no mystery: use the loadout that paints in the game mode where painting matters.

The Curling Bomb should be seen as a side weapon whenever you are kept in check. The Sploosh lacks too much range to be a true slayer, and needs to scare through different means when rebuffed. It also builds precious meter through these Bombs.

Because Ultra Stamp serves as main slaying tool when encountering defensive painters. If all it does is clear the immediate area around the zones, then it'd be good enough. The Sploosh needs no help painting the field. Only to clear the field.

Tower Control: Neo set

With difficulty in approaching due to short range and poor splatting power due to lack of focus, the Sploosh takes on a role of paint support in Tower Control. Ink everywhere, staying mobile and build fighting area for your teammates. Don't push the front lines so much as Turf around your friends.

Let's be honest: spamming Killer Wail 5.1 will be a huge part of your contribution to the team. The Sploosh excels at evading enemy fire while firing at the ground, making its player an excellent lure as long as they keep moving. Employ hiding techniques such as wall clinging around a corner to improve your odds.

If the other team ignores the bait, dropping Squid Beakons will have them regret their decision. Basically, the Sploosh is too vulnerable, even with potential Curling Bombs, to go off hunting. Embrace the support role, and find your offensive streak while activating your lasers.

Rainmaker: Vanilla set

Sploosh is one of the best Barrier shredders there is, though you'll have to be at zero range for best effect. Count on your teammates for protection, and use all your ink with Curling Bombs for the quickest release. The faster you bust the Barrier, the less effort you demand from your friends.

Once the Rainmaker is free, Sploosh turns into this mixture of flanker and paint support. Because forward painting is rarely productive (though Curling Bombs may provide a path), escape the fray and seek opportune targets. Because the Sploosh has shot spread, combine your assault with a close range bomb to ensure sufficient damage is dealt.

Ultra Stamp greatly increases your offensive abilities, give you protection on the front lines and is the most destructive special to clear the way for your Rainmaker carrier. Activated from flanking path, it can wipe the entire team. Save for special circumstances.

Clam Blitz: Neo set

This is weird as you're priority is moving forwards and barely about clams. Clams is something you search for when you realize you're getting zoned. Again, gathering ground is a priority and spamming Killer Wail 5.1 serves best as a general distraction.

Similar to a Splat Roller, you have amazing map mobility which you should share amongst teammates. Though not a priority, planting Squid Beakons is an option when you're not certain as to what to do. You don't need Curling Bombs for movement, and if you're zoned out they won't help.

Repeated Killer Wail 5.1 will destroy any sort of organized structure from the enemy team. They're not so much a weapon as an intermittent annoyance preventing the opponents to focus, and allowing eagle eyed teammates a few opportune kills.
